nCircle is all about network security. Many other companies in the market offer similar products, sure, we all know, but nCircle is somewhat ‘unique’, according to experts in security. The nCircle review include: Suite360, PureCloud and Benchmark.
PureCloud
What caught my attention is how well the integration of security deployment either physically or virtually. How IT can access features, revise and monitor security from wherever they have a piece of mind that security will not be compromised with a server crash, maintenance or any other possible system failure. Cloud solutions are the future of operations!
Suite360: Intelligence Hub
Integration of data from applications within the enterprise easily via open standards. Also, data from other enterprise applications can be easy added to be fetch and compiled eliminating the time spent in manual reporting and data consolidation efforts. Another excellent feature Suite360 Intelligence Hub has been, along with the enterprise applications, it can also integrate all existent nCircle products providing a fully productive and complete monitoring solution, all in one dashboard.
Benchmark
Able to measure an organization’s performance and IT infrastructure peers, providing scorecards and reports of many existent solutions within a company. Free to try with many customizable options and with many more with an upgrade plan. I have seen this sort of solutions in other companies, like Rapid7’s Nexpose with a Metasploit for security breach test that offers itself as a free download. Benchmark from nCircle uses the same approach which is no doubt about, very compelling for users.
Forrester Research, Inc. tested nCircle in vulnerability management mode with similar companies including Rapid7, Mcafee and Qualys, our nCircle review has come out with very comparable percentage reports, though we have to consider, nCircle seems to detect issues slightly better in critical categories than Rapid7. According to those tests, nCircle scores of 4.80 out of 5 in Administration and Reporting Category compared to 3.70 Rapid7 gets. Current offering score goes to nCircle as well because it has one of the most versatile and sophisticated range of solutions available for network security.
Issues encountered with nCircle review are with its new Ncircle IP360 solution, which scans all network devices. Database would need to be expanded in order for IP360 to become a hit and even a sale point; many devices, mostly BYOD have to be manually identified and added to the database, but I give it the benefit of the doubtbecause IP360 is relatively a new comer. Integration of Suite360 Intelligence Hub, CCM and IP360 is somewhat vague, creating each one their own management consoles and databases without full accuracy according to what some consumers report, being this a minor flaw in management integration and simplicity to use but it’s actually about minor improvements and absolutely nothing else major encountered with nCircle.
Most companies have a designed IT infrastructure, IT managers and seniors totally accustomed to their legacy network solutions, operations and administration, but exploring many alternatives is actually what makes an IT delegate versatile, outstanding and a true, impeccable and indispensable troubleshooter, able to respond to many unusual inquires that may arise. Security Breaches and threats are not as simply and as easy to identify as they were years ago, they have evolved and techniques involved have become developed more than ever. From my point of view, new sophisticated and advanced solutions in the market can do better at tackling the fast growing, ever-changing network security threats realm, and I consider nCircle to be one of the most integrals to do the job.
